ok so ive had a vtx3d HD 6950 for a while now and recently used msi afterburner to push it from its stock 800mhz/1250mhz clocks to 950mhz/1350mhz, but in order to do this i had to up the gpu core voltage from 1100mv to 1200mv, ive tested out a few games with it and it seems to be stable enough but i dont know safe/stable it will be over time as i have not had much overclocking experiance.
If it is safe to do this i want to know if there is a way for me to further increase its clocks WITHOUT flashing it to a hd6970 as i ****ed it up last time and am having to use bios number 2 lol (bios switch set to 2), the sliders wont go any higher than 950/1350.
If there is not a way to further boost my GFX card i would appreciate any suggestions as to testing the stability of my card, thanks!
P.S. also i might shoot for another HD6950 and crossfire them up but i swear the crossfirex connector i have wont reach between two cards on my motherboard (it is a crossfire enabled board i think) http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A88TDV_EVOUSB3/ is it possible to get longer crossfirex leads?

. I'm running on 1.2v or 1.225v, Can't remember but that's been since December 2010. As for pushing it further, well the voltages and cooling (more heat = more fan speed/noise) needed for 1000Mhz isn't worth it for most people. If you're under water for your GPU then it might be worth it but honestly, at 950Mhz, you're at a sweet spot. The only thing would be to unlock your shader, that would give you a boost in performance. If you lived in Edinburgh I'd give you my card for peace of mind and take yours away to get your card back to normal.
