afternoon all
Every man and his dog seem to be recommending the upgrade to SSD, but for the price i'd have already made the jump.
I use my PC mostly for gaming, and was wondering what sort of difference a SSD would make to me. I guess there must be more to it then just quicker load times.
Given the expense of SDD, and the standard of the rest of my kit I cant help but feeling i would be better diverting the cash elsewhere as im planning a major update in the near future.
The other complication is that I purchase most of these through steam, so have quite a large folder which I dont think i could fit on even a 120gb drive (with windows).
I consider my options to be:
1. 40/60gb drive for OS and current 7200 drive for everything else
2. 40/60gb drive for OS and some sort of RAID array for games
3. 40/60gb drive for OSand a velociraptor for games only
4. 120gb SSD using the file junction trick to split the steam install (read about but never tried)
5. finally forget the SSD drive and just use my current drive
cheers for any advice
