I have a HP computer with an ASUS motherboard, support SATA and ultraATA.
The computer came with a 160GB Uata HD, and had two SATA conectors free, so when the SATA prices went down I got a Barracuda 7200.10 320GB.
And I installed the OS in the SATA, so my primary HD (BIOS setting) is the 320GB and the 160Uata HD is in a slave (Secondary HD).
But now the trouble, I'm storing in the 160GB videos and when I open explorer to open it I heard the HD to start get powered, like when you trun the computer, and explorer get froze for about a second and it open the drive to browse.
I'm not sure if the power supply has an issue with the second HD or if I should place the second instead of Slave Ide in the Master ide.
Note the hd with the trouble is the 160Gb for storing, not boot.
The 320Gb SATA is working great and boots really fast.
Note I use a ANtec 430watts true power 2.0
Thanks people.
