HD problem - advice needed

Hi,

Need some help understanding what is wrong with my D: drive (WD5000AAKS).
First noticed that it was very slow when burning cd´s from that drive.

Downloaded HDtach and the read speed slows down to almost 0.

Tried to change the sata port but no luck and the disk is in DMA mode 5.

Could it be the cable or is the drive dying or something else?

I cant see it being the cable, I have never known a cable to create a fault with a HDD

Download WD diagnostics tool, it should tell you what's wrong:

Seen a few sata cables go bad in my time repairing computers...rare but possible and worth checking.
