I recently added a 250 gb hard drive to my PC (less than a year ago) and we just had a power cut earlier today when i was using it. I have just restarted it and not windows doesnt recognise me having that drive.

The 40 gb drive (with all my uni work on) is detected fine, but not the 250 gb drive. It is detected in bios and when i go in to the drive manager it just says that it is uninitialised, but i cant get it to appear or access it.

Whats happened??

Try 'Testdisk' partition recovery, see if it can find any partitions on the drive, and what state they are in.

I managed to corrupt the partition table on my hard drive, and testdisk was able to restore it perfectly. :)
