I`ve had my WD 500gig hard drive for about 8 months, in the last couple of days ive been getting error messages in windows....like "write error" a problem with your hardware or check your network connection and data maybe lost.
I was playing a movie and the computer froze, this when i had the error message. I then used hddtune to check for bad sectors and this did not complete because the computer froze again, so i had to do an improper shutdown, so turned the computer back on to copy my movies (100gig worth) to another drive but again after 5mins it locked again
, so i cut my loses and formatted the drive using partition magic....after this i used hddtune to check for errors and it past with flying colours. So i downloaded another movie and put on this drive and within an hour of play i had the same error message again....do you guys think my harddrive is failing?
