HD Reading problem

I have a big problem with my main drive

Seagate 1TB drive

My machine was not booting and I took the drive out and slaved it to a USB caddie when it turns on the caddie I see the data for like 30 secs then the drive stops reading. For that first 30 secs, I can read what every folder I chose then it stops.

No ticking from the drive it just stops reading

Any pointers folks ?

Most likely the controller, if you could get an identical drive you could swap the boards over in the slim chance you may get the data.

Thanks for the reply that what I thought too, been on ebay and found one for 25 notes for worth a try.
