Planning a HD config atm, and was wondering a few things ...
Single SATA - Boot
2x RAID0 SATA - Video editing
3x RAID3 SATA - Storage
Is what im thinking atm...
REVO64 - im not familiar with RAID3 , if i run 3 drives as parity, if one dies, can i continue running with 2 (obviously forfeting parity) and then add the 3rd in time ? or do i NEED 3 for it to work - ie PC is down until i can add the 3rd ?
Just wondering whether the RAID0 will add much to video encoding ...
I assume having the DVD rips on a seperate drive/array to where the file is being outputted is the best way to do it ?
What would be fastest
Source and Output all on RAID0
Source on RAID3 , Output on RAID0
Source on RAID0 , Output on RAID3
Or wouldnt there be much difference ?
Would i see more difference having boot as just windows, and games/apps on the RAID0 ?
Any advice appreciated.. id like to keep the RAID3 for parity...
