HD Sound Problems

Ok whenever I try to play a HD movie on my comp the sound is mucked up. On the superman trailer the voices are very quiet but the music is very loud. On the tenacious d trailer I cant hear anything at all. :confused:

Im playin it through headphones and its playin in WMP 11

Check speaker settings etc for your soundcard.

If they are set to 5.1 or similar you will be missing the center channel (where most voice action is directed) when using stereo speakers or headphones.

it depends a bit on your sound card, but Control Panel, Speaker and sound settings, speaker settings, advanced will normally do it.

The likes of Creative often also have their own sound mixer with test options to check you've got the right speaker settings

nope ive pretty much messed around with everything in the sound section of control panel to no avail

Hmmmm have you tried the settings in WMP itself? maybe that is causing the grief.

Try a different player such as powerdvd. Does it work ok through speakers rather than headphones? If so then your headphones may be faulty or plugged in the wrong port maybe?
