was wondering if in the future, platter drives will come in a more 'storage only' design? the WD green drives are slow 5400rpm but still have quick transfer rates. i wonder if it would be cheaper if they made them spin as slow as laptop drives do (4200?). they'd be cooler, quieter and (maybe) need less power to run. they'd still have decent transfer rates too. might even be cheaper to make
