HD5830 underperforming

Gigabyte P35C-DS3R. Setting it to 3.2 made it just reset itself, which is why I looked for a 3 Ghz solution. I don't really want to increase the fan as fan noise really annoys me for some reason :)
1.275 vcore is probably too little to keep 3.2GHz stable. You board should be fine for overclocking the Q6600...you could try giving the vcore a bit more bump to push your overclock higher. I think as long as you keep the vcore at below 1.35v, it most likely won't increase the heat too much, so the CPU cooler fans shouldn't really spinning much faster or louder than it is now.

if your still getting problems after all that faffing around , get an nvidia card,no driver problems there!!!

Um, did you read this thread at all?

The problem is with his CPU bottlenecking the GPUs performance in games, it has nothing to do with his the make of his graphics card.

Nonetheless, I'm sure your mindless fanboy retort was of great help to the Op.

Yeah. Rift doesnt seem to be doing so well on the Hardware side. I have a 570 and average around 60FPS on the default 'high'

Compared to a friends rig, i have a better system overall (I7 2600k [3.4ghz] to a Phenom x3 [3ghz] and a 570 to a 460) and we both get 117 FPS on LOW. now im SURE that should be higher on my rig. But yeah. It may be fixed with a patch as a few people seem to having problems with it.
