hd595 headphone - sounds coming out the wrong side

I have Essence ST soundcard and hd595 headphones.

Using the headphones, sounds is coming out the opposite ear. i.e. left sound is coming out in the right side and vise visa.

I cant see any settings to change this. Am i being dumb?

The speakers sound is correct.

Have you got them on the right way around ?

What side is the cable coming from the phones as you wear them ?

lol - the headpones has R and L written on them, even a idiot like myself can work that out
