I had a try at http://www.guru3d.com/article/overclock-radeon-5970-guide/, but within a few minutes i was reaching close to 100C 
. Apparently, according to the guru of 3d, above 100 Degrees C is not okay at all -- the GPUs will automatically down clock if they are overheating past 100 Degrees C -- and with Furmark running for a couple of minutes, trust me .. they will. When i can afford it i'll go water cooling for GPU's and overclocking. My 5970 did 850 / 1200 with ease using afterburner and furmark running but the temps were going up way to quickly for my liking. When i overclocked using catalyst control centre and furmark running the whole system locked up within a couple of minutes.
