HD7970 to RX580 worth it considering the rest of my setup?

Well the change has been made, glad I did it.

Re-installed Andromeda for a test run with everything cranked up as high as it'll go including Temporal AA (Had to have AA completely off with the 7970) and it feels butter smooth.

It seems louder than the 7970 but lower pitched so I don't think it'll be an issue.

I take it you got the 580 then? You didn't say you got a 580, or did you get the 590?

Don't forget the 590 comes with 3 games compared to the 580 coming with 2.

Even so that extra game is not worth the difference although I understand your point. If the limited games are what you would play then thats a bonus. For longevity I guess the 590 is a good option as its newer in some ways than a 580. If your upgrading from something recent its not really an upgrade if you know what I mean. It would be much better if the games were not tied so that you could market them to redeem the outlay.

Hi, The games shouldn't be tied to the card buyer, at least they weren't in the previous 3 game bundle, 2 of the games came as Steam codes (Strange Brigade & Star Origins) and the other which was on Uplay (Assassin's Creed Odyssey) I sold by signing the AMD Rewards account over to the the chap who bought the game, No-one had a problem activating the games & they got me £65 to take of the price of the card I bought. The games will sell for £20 or £25 each so getting the third game cuts the price difference between the cards in half, The cheapest 580 is the Red Dragon, the cheapest 590 is the Red Devil so if you sell the third game you only have to add an extra 15 or 20 quid for the 590 making it the smart choice.

If you receive the codes once they have been released and anyone can use them that's great! I was under the impression that one of these titles was not transferrable - I just re-read your post and you had to hand over the account that makes sense but not ideal if you had a larger library. The other games are forced as in you could not select from a list (like the previous time I had an AMD bundle) making them harder to sell.

Sorry I didn't explain it properly, I didn't mean the Uplay account I meant the AMD rewards account, Whenever you get an AMD bundle you access it by opening an account on the AMD rewards page, it is a changable e-mail account, All I did was change the rewards account email to the e-mail address he gave me and gave him the password, he then followed the instructions to activate on his Uplay account.
It was all pretty straight forward, Neither of us had done it before as you can read in the MM thread but it worked without a hitch. https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/assassins-creed-odyssey-on-uplay.18833187/ I did it with a second bundle as well.

Thats good to hear, I understand this better now so it may be possible to sell them on easily.

I'm sure someone posted on this forum that the account could check what GPU you had (so that you could not pass the codes on) but in reality this was easily circumnavigated!

There's no checks on the gpu used, I've had Nvidia do that to me before & they've had some recent game bundles so maybe that's where you heard it. :)

It really depends on the games. In some of the very latest games even with an overclock the 3570K is going to choke and drop frames. Think Battlefield online, maybe Assassins Creed Oydessy, those sort of games.

Went for the plunge today & bought Assassins Creed Odyssey, played about 4 hours with a mixture of "Very High" & "Ultra High" settings at 1080p and it seems to play great with the FPS cap set at 35fps, no input lag or stuttering. My only issue is I can't seem to enable V-Sync on this particular game.

I did drop volumetric clouds to "High" though as I read they have a massive performance impact & from the image in the options menu I didn't think i'd even notice them.
