HDD Advice.

F3's seem to be well recieved across this forum so I going to opt for them I have a 3 year warrenty on them so Ill be fine for 3years as long as I have raid 1 and my pc doesnt catch fire/ get stolen

I would be backing up my data every 6 months or so, so say after 5 months it crashes, i have raid 1 to save my ass.

Unless it a failure of the RAID array itself in which case you could lose 5 months worth of data.

You should backup far more often than once every six months.

Your right - If I bought two and put it into raid 0 would i see a significant improvement in preformance?
And I Would just back up my data more often.

So when I get my replacement I would have to wipe the other HDD, reinstall OS etc..
Thanks for your help

If you have Windows 7 you can use your WD drive to make an image of the RAID array in your PC.

If one drive in the RAID fails you replace it and then restore the image using a Windows 7 Recovery CD.

You're back where you started from without having to install everything again. It's just a copy job from the backup.

Ok thanks for all your help its really appreciated.
Im going to see if I can find some more reviews on the WD - if there is none Im going for the F3!

Edit: scratch that saw some preformance reviews etc. F3 it is!
Thank you so much
