Is there any generic key to hold at POST which will bring up a menu of all bootable devices, so you can select which HDD you want to boot from? I'm having to manually change the boot order everytime, which is a total pain in the butt. Is this the only way of doing it?

Cheers,

Would depend totally on the particular make and model of motherboard. Some manufacturers allow it, some don't. What do you have ?

If you are refering to the Ultra-D in your sig then do this...

When you see the post screen, either the full screen graphic logo or text screen depending on what you've selected in the bios, just tap the ESC once*. You'll now get a menu of all bootable devices. Simply use the up/down cursor keys and highlight the one you want then press enter. The system will boot from the chosen device this one time as you require.

* Do not tap it more than once because what will happen is the second time you press it the menu gets cancelled and it disappears, therefore causing the system to boot from the order saved in the BIOS settings.

It does on my DFI SLI-DR and DFI Venus board, both of which are from the same range as your DFI Ultra-D.

The screen where you're supposed to press Esc once is the one where it shows the amount of RAM you have, the rate it's running at, the timings, CPU speed etc. Not the screen that comes after listing devices Irqs.

Do you know what BIOS date version you've got? You can check this via CPUz -> Mainboard -> Bios -> Date field.
