I have been given a WD Caviar Blue 250GB HDD. The only information on the drive is the brand and capacity. How do I go about finding out how much cache the drive has?
I am asking because I am about to buy another WD Caviar Blue 250GB with 16mb cache. For the sake of consistency I'd like to make sure everything tallies up.
Any help would be great
PS. Ive tried googling and got pointed to a command line instruction known as "hdparm". Reading further about this, it appears to be quite a dangerous command to run
