HDD causing BSODS?

Hello,

Has anyone ever heard of a new hard disk making vista flakey? I added a Samsung 1TB on friday and have had about 20 bsods since then. I even resorted to reinstalling vista.

I'm going to remove it later and see if that stabalises my pc, I dont know what the deal is with returning a HDD to OCUK if it turns out it is the HDD causing my problems.

Random BSODs?

Is the new drive on a different SATA controller to the existing disk?

Have you run any diagnostics on the drive?

I have 5 HDD installed.
This is the first time ive ever had a hdd trigger problems but ive never used anything close to 1tb before. I'm using a corsair 620w psu so i dint think its a power problem.
No, I havnt tried any diagnostics yet, i'll need to find one...I'm more used to HDD just working until they start making clunking noises to indicate theres a problem.

Like rpstewart said, i'd surface scan the drive and rule out any physical fault.

I always do a slow format on a new HDD to check the surface, no issues showed up but i'll try that with diagnostic software later.
