is thhere any of the disk imaging software available that can use a usb pen drive to back up and restor a disk image??

want try windows 7 on my main pc but i have only recently just reforted to vista and dont want have go through it all again

gparted (http://gparted.sourceforge.net) works a treat for this kind of thing too and it's free. It can be booted off a cd or usb drive. An older version is also included on knoppix distributions.

I recently used it to shrink the vista partition on my laptop and then migrate an sbs server from two drives to a raid6 array. Both jobs worked flawlessly.

^i'm sure you're aware of this and probably just misread the title :)

but gparted is for partitioning, not imaging, but it is great

partedmagic is another awesome tool that contains gparted, and more
