When trying to copy a large file ( over 50MB ish ) from my storage drive to my system drive I get a blue screen. It says somthing about IRQ's, I keep getting this and can't fix it. It's never happened before...

Also when trying to copy from the storage disk to a network device, the transfer fails and says the source could not be read from. I can list to music and watch movies from the drive fine though...

This just started to happen last night, and I have no idea why it's happening..

Could anyone help me out, please.

If you need any more info just ask me

Driver IRQL not less or equal, that's the message i'm getting on the blue screen when i try and copy a file from the disk.

This is on Vista 64, if that helps.

No idea. Look in event viewer for the error and see what it says in there. It also links to the MS website of the error, paste that in here (atleast it should do).

If the storage HDD is on one controller and the OS HDD on another controller, it could be a driver issue (of the controller that the storage HDD is on), that is causing it, this is what happened to me. :)

It is a driver issue, I think. This is the error I've just got from a blue screen -

" A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. The faulty driver currently on the kernel stack must be replaced with a working version. "

How do I know what driver is faulty? Would it be my controller driver or the disk driver?
How did it get 'faulty'
And what's a kernel stack?

Arg... man :(
