Are there any of those HDD recorders (freeview or norm tv) out there that have network ports so you can copy recorded files onto your pc?

It would be just as easy to record the data to disk and then put the disk in your PC.

May I recommend the absolutely wonderful Pioneer DVR-545HX.
the editing facilities and ease of use are amazing.
Its also got Freeview and plays DIVX files.

I'm looking for something similar myself right now, but ideally a network PVR that will allow me to stream live TV around the house as well as transfer the recorded stuff.

The closest I've come to a HDD recorder with a pc interface is the Topfield TF5800PVR, which they seem to rave a about in avforums. It only has a USB connection but i believe there is a way to connect this to a network port. Other than that it's probably the more painful media pc route.

Im no expert - but I havent seen a consumer model which can stream via a network port.

I hope they come out in this year's refresh but maybe you will only see it in premium models for the time being

i`ve been looking for such a product as well but after much gnashing of teeth I got a Panasonic which doesnt have an Ethernet port, it DOES do other stuff well ad is a compromise.
IMHO it is a no brainer to get all these things network ready, I mean why should'nt all our household gadgets appliances have web interfaces?, surely this will happen.

i have had one for 2 years now and the amount of things it doesn't do is very long.

Still what it does do it does very well :D

got a Panasonic and it doesn't record DVD R+ DVD/RW + or -

you have to buy expensive Panasonic RAM discs to rerecord on it. Doesn't play DIVX or VCD even :( still the hard drive can record 42 hours of TV which is slightly better than the 4 hour VHS tapes I used to have :p
