Hi all,

Got my bro-in-laws PC here at the moment, it wouldnt boot up and just kept coming up with an error msg.

Ive put both his HDDs into my PC.

It seems that both drives have been found but only one is actually visable from explorer. Using computer manager ive found that the faulty HDD has been found, but has the msg 'DISK 1 DYNAMIC FOREIGN'

Cant open it and the only option ive got is to convert it to basic disk.

Any ideas on whether the HDD is just fubar, recoverable or anything else that may be helpful?

It's just a Dynamic Disk that your PC doesn't recognise. This may require a Pro version of XP/Vista, but click on:
Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management.

From here you may be able to Import it into your system. The help files regarding the Management system in general are excellent, so I'd say those were your next port of call.
