hdd for tv and cheapest 1080p tv

hello, can i get a hdd with an enclsure that i can copy mkv movies and other formats, and then play it on a tv using scart and or hdmi?

also what would the cheapest 1080p tv be? ill be looking to get 2 of them, hopefully not too big. or even one thats around 40" and one around 25-30"

Why has it got to be a 1080p tv ?, you will be much better off buying a better quality 720 tv than a poor quality 1080 tv and if your watching mainly standard definition programs a 720 screen may be better anyway.

What sort of price are you looking at spending on each TV ?

well i have a ps3 and 360, 360 for the main TV room, moving from a 25" CRT, and my uni room, a PS3, so a 25-30" /mointor that does 1080p for that.

for the main TV, around £500, for the uni room, about £300.

Id go for a Panasonic 42PX80 for the living room which you should be able to pick up for about £500 and a 32" Samsung for the uni room which you you should be able to get fro around £300.
The 32" Samsung is 1080p but the 42" Panasonic is 720p but don't let numbers put you off.

Series 4 which is around 349 is 720p and a 32" Series 5 with 1080p is around £500...

itll be used for sd tv but blu ray and the 360. you think that the panny is best?

i was hoping for £500 inc a stand

Panny is definitely the best for SD and the 360 will look great too. Remember, almost every next gen game is 720p anyway, so you don't need a 1080p tv for it.

You want a media streamer, for less than £100 you may struggle. I would look for a second hand popcorn hour 100 if you can.

there are some cheapo media player things that take a standard 3.5" hd, but the quality sucks big time....can't give links, but google should turn some up! they're around £30 without hd

If you google "Western Digital TV HD 1080P Media Player" it is a nice piece of kit all you would need is a USB stick or standard USB External HDD to plug into it to play movies from. Full 1080P and actually does a good job.
