hdd health status

Hello all,
Just need to know what the best way to check the health of my HDD is, it certainly sounds unhappy but is there software to check it?

Speedfan will give you a detailed report on the S.M.A.R.T info or if it's potentially more serious then each drive manufacturer has diagnostic tools available - there are links to these in the sticky.

i tried a few but most didn't find the smart data of my Sata 2 Seagate.

You need to enable smart 1st in your m/b bios for the drive u want to inspect

Finally i found a good prog that works called "Hard drive Inspector" - also displays drive temps in taskbar.

everest will do this as well and check hardware status

Iv found it dont matter if S.M.A.R.T is on or off in my bios, speedfan will always report my drive smart details :confused:

maby not a good thing lol

Thanks all for your help, my HDD did indeed die thus the reason I am only now reading these messages.
