HDD health testing

best ways please.

some people have posted sreenies of diag results etc when they sell HDD's on members market. cant find any pics at the moment to show tho. but how would you test the health / status?

something in my case is kind of making a little noise every now and again and just want to check things out

Full read surface and read/write scan. It'll take a good day though. Check hard disc site for utlities.

It seems there's quite a few things in the FAQ, don't know what they do though except HDtach.

i think speedfan has the option to show information, spin-up time, fragmented sectors etc
