HDD image on an SSD

I'm looking to get a ssd very soon, one thing i'm unclear of is i have a image that i made of my fresh install of windows 7 that i made on a hdd, will I be able to use the image to put windows on an ssd? Ive tried googling it but not come up with a lot.

Best to do a fresh install tbh.

yes fresh install is the way forward, or if you must acronis version 11 onwards will do it ok
