HDD keeps dissapearing

Hey guys my 2nd hard drive keeps dissapearing when i transfer files from an external hard drive.. i think its dieing cause one of the 2 hard drives keeps making write sound pretty loud like scratching.. could it be something else or is it on its way out?

I am going to try and see if the SATA power connector that's doing it by using a molex instead to power it and see how that goes

No one? i have tried changing the power saving to not turn off a hard drive

Download HD Tune here, select the drive which is giving problems, look at the SMART data in the Health tab. If it says the drive is in trouble, well it is

Ahh, I see you have an SB setup... What SATA ports are you using?

the two sata 3 ports have my 2 hdds and the marvel sata 3 port has my dvd writer

SATA 0 and 1 shouldn't be affected by the SB SATA problems, sorry no idea which ones are which. Can you see what's printed on the board?

the 6gb ports are being used and these arnt the ones with the problem are they?... i ran that test and it was fine.. im guessing it just doesnt like large (7,000 songs) transfered at once lol
