I came across a program called "HDDlife".
I've just installed the notebooks version and it's showing:

Health Status (ATTENTION!): 30%
Performance (MODERATE!): 30%
Work time: 2 months, 13 days, 12 hours - what is this?

The drive temperature is apparently 46 degrees - Is this good or bad?


Should I be concerned by the (poor?) health of the drive?


The drive is a Seagate ST9100823A 100gb.

Says 73% for my drives so I am good for a while.

Just backup most important stuff on a weekly basis and if it does go bad then you know the program is pretty acurate.

Depends how long you have had the drives.

Ive had my HDD for about 6 years and it says 85%
