I want to add another drive to my system ( current is 500gb, nearly gone) looking to add another http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-252-SE

I want to ask,

is there anything else involved then just plugging in the data and power cables, or will I need to do anything else to it? also, 2 of my blue sata ports are used, are the white ones not as good?

For your Z68AP-D3 stick with the blue ports.

All you do is plug it in, when go to disk management and format the drive. Then it's ready to use

so, shall I take out the cd rw (I dont use it that much) and stick it in the white port, then have 2 hard drives in the 2 blue ports,

also, I assume disk management will be in the control panel?

Whoops my bad, seems the white ports are Intel controlled. Just use any ports then. Plus you should have 4 blue ports anyway.

Yes it's under control panel. Alternately you can just search it in the start menu, or right click computer and click "Manage".

when I go into manage ( from right clicking computer ) I go to my C drive and cant seem to format it, is this because it is the primary drive, or because I'm blind?

Search "disk management" in the "Search programs and files" then. Should bring it up. Result will be "Create and format hard disk partitions".

Yup. That's it. When you install the new drive it will appear there as RAW. All you need to do is right click and format into NTFS, then you're sorted

No. It's like a USB stick. It will appear as E:. You will need to make a folder on it and move the stuff there yourself manually. You can also change the file directory for Documents, Music, etc by following option 2 on this guide: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/18629-user-folders-change-default-location.html
