HDD not detecting in BIOS.

So I ordered a desktop from OCUK a while ago, and it arrived today; I've just finished setting it up, and it works excellently, apart from one thing - the 2TB Seagate HDD isn't showing up. The 240GB Kingston SSD is, and that's where everything is right now - but the HDD isn't in Device Manager, and it's not showing up on the BIOS either. The FAQ suggests opening up the tower, but I'm not sure if that'd do anything to the warranty.

It's showing up in Device Manager now, but it's hidden. Device status message:

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

^How should I go about doing this?

Opening a PC shouldn't bother the warranty. I doubt OcUK attach any kind of warranty seal.

Chances are a cable has disconnected during shipping and just needs plugging back in.

The 2TB drive will be massive in comparison to the SSD and should be easily identifiable.

The 2TB should have two cables connected to it; power and data. The power connector is the wider one.

The data cable will connect to the motherboard at its other end. The power cable will connect back to the PSU.

In my experience the SATA connector going into the motherboard can be quite loose. I'm pretty sure one of mine in my old board would have just fallen out if I turned the PC round such that it pointed downwards. In contrast the connectors going into the drive take some force to insert so are less likely to be loose, although I guess they may have not been pushed hard enough to begin with.

Update: A couple of the cables looked a bit loose, so I pushed them back in; still nothing in the BIOS, though. Will it show up there if it's connected properly?

Personally I'd look in Device Manager and do a scan for hardware changes (right click 'Disk drives' for the option) if it doesn't show.
If it still doesn't appear then it has to be either:
dud lead (power or data, could try different power connector on the ribbon, and/or swap around a data cable to check if that is the issue)
dud motherboard socket (try putting the working drive in the motherboard socket you were trying to use to confirm if the socket works)
dud drive

Update II: The SATA connector came out again - because the cables attached to it were too big for the case. Every time I put the case back on, it pushed the connector out; it's one of those L-shaped ones, so the cables poke out a bit.

I've put it back in, and propped the case against the open tower - the HDD is showing up in the BIOS and Device Manager now, and it's formatting (1%... 1.1%... 1.2%...).

Is it worth getting a new SATA connector and screwing the case back on?
