Hdd not recognized

Wondered if anyone can help me, I wanted to add some extra storage to my gaming pc, I currently have a 250gb m.2 and a 1tb hdd, I have purchased another 1tb hdd to run.

I have plugged this into a data cable and plugged the usb into the board,

When switching my pc on I can’t see it at all in the disk management.

I have tried different data cables into the drive, tried plugging usb into different ports with no luck.

Also I have been to my mates and tried it in his pc with no luck, I have tried everything I can think of.

Is there anything in the bios settings I have to switch on?

Anyone else had issues like this?

Data should read sata, autocorrect

So it’s not the sata cable I have tried 3 with no luck, I can’t even hear the hdd spin up.

what’s the likely hood of a brand new Hdd being faulty ?

Have you plugged in a power cable as well as the SATA?

Yes it was powered too.
