Greetings,

I have had issues with my second computers hdd. It boots for about 2 minutes then turns off automatically. I have since determined that due to an aborted installation the FAT has been damaged.

I have since got a new hdd and reinstalled windows although I would like to retrieve my documents from the other hdd.

I have tried to boot with the hdd in my main comp, but to no avail. it shuts off the same way. I have heard of some software for this sort of thing.

Any ideas??

Thanks

I'm a little confused when you said:

"have tried to boot with the hdd in my main comp, but to no avail. it shuts off the same way."

What you need is to do, is boot your main PC from it's own HD & have the corrupt HD attached as a secondary drive. With a little luck, you might be able to see your data on the corrupt drive. If not, use something like "GetDataBack For NTFS/FAT". I recently used GetDataBack For NTFS, and it worked for my problem, but you might have a more serious problem than i did. Google GetDataBack For NTFS/FAT, and use the trail. It'll find your data for free, but you'll have to pay (creditcard) for it when you try to recover the files.

Good Luck Bro
