HDD quickly hangs

Ive got X2 SATA HDD's when I select and open the slave drive the pc hangs for a few seconds. Sounds like when you put a cd in your cd drive.

Windows will also hang if iam listening to media from that drive aswell at a random point.

Does anyone know why I might be having this problem?

Check your power settings in control panel, sounds like the drives are set to spin down after a period of inactivity.
