So uh, not a problem as such, as it's not causing me any issues, errors, crashes or anything, it's just kind of weird?

Randomly when I'm using my PC it will sound like my PC turns off* and sometimes when I shut down my PC the HDD makes a loading sound as if it has to load being told to shut down before it shuts down. oO

*I connect the sound to my PC turning off because it's the mechanical storage HDD shutting down which is what I mostly heard when I turned off my previous rig; and it's the only component I kept from it

Specs in spoiler if it matters, the external hdd is an old 250gb seagate I believe and this is a fresh install, again no actual issues it's just rather odd ;p

Do you have power saving enabled for the HDD? Mine goes into a sleep state after 30 mins of no use making a similar sound.

Ah yes, by default it seems; 20minute shutdown in power options, I've set that to Never and will report back if it was that :)
