HDD recorders

OK - I know we are supposed to be talking about HTPCs and other "all in one" solutions but does anyone know if you can buy *just* a HDD recorder?

I don't want to be able to watch freeview (which counts out loads), I don't want to be tied to paying £10 every month (so no Sky+), I don't want a screen and portability (so not iPOD video or Archos) and I've got a great DVD player already (so not a combo system).

Any suggestions? Or I'm best just getting a HDD with a freeview attached.

I doubt there are many non freeview HDD recorders out there. It's 2010 they plan to phase out analogueTV right? it doesn't give the product a massive lifespan. Do you have freeview reception problems?

Not they I know of - I've got standard Sky digital and just don't like paying for things I don't need or desire...

there are quite a few HDD freeview/analogue PVR's out there.

IIRC you can get dual freeview HDD recorders from about £180 now, and HDD/DVDR recorders from about the same price
