Hi :)

I think I may have a HDD issue
According to software i've been testing my system with my HDD is only running at 25 mb/s, from what I gather is really crap...

Its a seagate 7200rpm Sata II drive
I've tried defraging, disk clean up but just cant seem to get it faster,

is there any settings in the BIOS i need to be looking at?
or do I have a HDD issue?
any help appreciated

Try different software. Does it actually "feel" that slow; slow boots and virus scans etc? May be use AHCI mode in bios as opposed to IDE; though you will either have to configure or use a "hack" to enable it unless you want to reinstall after you set it to that. Also have you got it connected to the mother board or a sata card? Is it a sata 1 connection? Try a different sata cable and also do a disk check

Yeah Its on Sata port 1, its doesn't feel slow to be honest, I have another thread up to try and find different software for testing PC performance so just waiting for some replies,

Using PC matic (pitstop) to test at the moment

cheers

Using sata 1 will affect the transfer speeds so if it doesn't feel slow then don't worry about it; if you want to be sure you could may be try connecting it to a sata 2 port as a test?
