hi guys im fairly new to the whole adding/removing/modification aspects of a pc ive owned them for years but never really wanted to improve on the specs till now ive been give a new computer (not shop built) for Xmas and im delighted with it except for in a few areas where due to the purchasers budget it could do with some additions like the hdd space its currently sporting a 500gb western digital internal HDD where i could do with maybe adding another 1TB nothing massive im not a gamer or anything but id like the added space regardless.
now my issue is that ive had both sides off the pc and i cant see any spare sata power connectors coming off the psu (just a white 4 pin connector, that doesn't look at all like the plug on the 500gb HDD) tied up anywhere so is it possible to buy a jumper cable that will power 2 internal HDD's the original 500gb unit and a extra 1TB unit there seem to be 2 spare data sata connections free on the motherboard so that shouldn't be a issue its just the whole powering the possible new unit im trying to overcome, thanks for any help in advance guy
