hi guys im fairly new to the whole adding/removing/modification aspects of a pc ive owned them for years but never really wanted to improve on the specs till now ive been give a new computer (not shop built) for Xmas and im delighted with it except for in a few areas where due to the purchasers budget it could do with some additions like the hdd space its currently sporting a 500gb western digital internal HDD where i could do with maybe adding another 1TB nothing massive im not a gamer or anything but id like the added space regardless.

now my issue is that ive had both sides off the pc and i cant see any spare sata power connectors coming off the psu (just a white 4 pin connector, that doesn't look at all like the plug on the 500gb HDD) tied up anywhere so is it possible to buy a jumper cable that will power 2 internal HDD's the original 500gb unit and a extra 1TB unit there seem to be 2 spare data sata connections free on the motherboard so that shouldn't be a issue its just the whole powering the possible new unit im trying to overcome, thanks for any help in advance guy :)

GREAT! thanks for the links, is there any reason i should choose one over the other? or even which would you choose if you had too?

You need the first one, the 2nd one is Molex to 2 SATA connectors the first one is one SATA power connector to two SATA connectors.

I re-read you post :p

great thanks a lot just one last thing can you cofirm that the 2 blue connectors (lower right) are infact free sata data plugs and will be suitable for my intended extra HDD?

Yes, you'll want to check the motherboard manual first in case they are a lower generation SATA speed, which won't cause problems but it'll be that much slower; however I don't see why they wouldn't work :D
