HDD securely erase all data

I have some HDD's I will be selling and was wondering what is the best possible way (without damaging) of making sure some files cannot be recovered?

Replace C: as whatever the drive letter is.

look up secure erase or DOD secure wipe. Basically you could just use a dummy file creator to create a file that is exactly the size of the disk, making sure it is filled with either 0 1 or random data.
