Hmm what to get...

1) Samsung spinpoint f1 1gb X2 Raid

2) Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB

3) SSD for my main drive + another drive for storage

the first question :what performance boost will i get by raiding two sammys?

the second question : I have heard a lot about the Samsung spinpoint f1 failing on these forums

the third : if you were me what option would be best, i do loads of 3D work as i work in the games industry so it needs to be pretty fast and responsive.

cheers all

yes i was not planing on getting 3 separate drives really, i know it will be mega quick.
this is my home PC so its not that business critical just need somthing nippy to work on if i want to take work home + do my own projects i regularly backup on an external and with online storage space. As you say SSD have big pluses but in my eyes are massively over expensive for very little space atm, games have massive installations these days too so a 64 or 128 gb drive is a bit to small.

i think a fast seagate will be the best for the moment and get some SSD when the capacity of the drives are better

anyone else have any thoughts, i have considered a raptor but again hardly any space and might as well get a SSD.
