Hi,
I'm sure this is a common problem thats easily resolved. I have just finished building my new pc and installed win XP. I've downloaded SP3 so its all up to date. But for some reason windows (or bios or both?) is not detecting all my hdd space. I have a 320gb samsung spinpoint F1 drive (sata) which is split up into 3 partions:
32gb drive C:
94gb drive E:
2gb drive F:

I'm no carol vorderman but I'm pretty certain this doesnt add up to 320gb! Was I meant to update the bios or something? or change some settings?

My spec is:
asus p5q pro mobo
intel E8400 3ghz
corsair 4gb xms2-6400
radeon 512mb 3450 graphics (until I can afford a decent cad!)
samsung spinpoint F1 320gb sata HDD
OCZ xstream psu 600w

EDIT: Could this be the same issue I'm having: http://www.techsupportforum.com/har...xp-not-recognizing-full-hard-drive-space.html

Go into Disk Management (right click on My Computer and pick Manage). What does that say about the disk?

Looking at the size of your partitions they add up to 128Gb which says to me they were created with a pre-SP1 copy of XP - which didn't support 48bit LBA and hence was limited to 128Gb volumes. There should be a lump of unallocated space on the disk which you'll now be able to work with.

^that's daft Side5wipe..

slipstream SP3 into your xp disc, then reinstall with that
it's cleaner that way..

or download gparted live boot cd, it's a partition manager, use that to expand F:
