Hi,
I have spent hours getting XP and Vista installed on my system. I have a ne WD 500gb hdd which I wanted to install XP on and a Segate 500gb hdd which was supplied with my PC. I installed XP first time fine on the WD hdd and then installed Vista on the other hdd. Then I noticed the drive size was 127gb so I installed Paragon partion manager, didn;t do much but must have buggered the boot menu. I then installed Norton Partition Magic 8.0 and changed the drive size and letter. Restarted and it wouldn boot into anything.

I started again and buggered something else. I got fed up and just installed Vista HP. I formatted my samsung 750 hdd and then tried to format my WD 500gb hdd but it stopped at 99% after going for longer than the 750gb. Tried again and the same thing. What can I do?

slipstream SP3 into your XP disc for a start

use gparted live boot cd to format the drive as ntfs

since SP1, xp has supported drives over 127gb

slipstream sp3 into your xp disc (google slipstream sp3 nlite), disc will be more up to date then

download the gparted iso file and burn it to disc as an image using imgburn, then boot from the disc
