Basically all the recommendations are viable, but I agree with @ED209 on this one. It's best that you check your drive with the offered tool by its manufacturer, first. However, the main reason I'm writing this post is because I wanted to add that you should backup any important data which you might have on that drive (before you test it), if you have any doubts that something might be wrong with it.
