HDD to replace BARRACUDA 7200.11

Hello!
I'm thinking of new OS installation, and want to buy new HDD, and use Seagate barracuda as second HDD (to store media, files, etc.).

Which Hdd will be more reliable/better/quiet..

size 500GB-1Tb

Its more designed to be a low energy storage drive, not a main OS drive. Although I guess he could use that as storage and his current drive as his OS drive.

Well if money isn't an issue and you want something faster, more reliable and quieter, then an SSD would be my recommendation.

well... I want at least 500 GB...
as
mine two external 640gb + 250GB Hdd's full.....

ssd - erm... cant see as an option.

Why you would need that much space? Personally I have a 1TB drive as storage and a 120GB SSD as my OS drive.

1TB western digital black, great drive and reliable, had 2 samsungs fail on me in 3 weeks so wont be using them again .

i was going to get this Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 but i've been informed about F3 drives coming out soon. what is the best HDD to buy should i wait for the f3's to come out or get a couple of Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ?? was thinking of using raid 0. other wise what should i get/

Im going to wait to see how good the F3's are. The 7200.12 didn't perform as well as I had hoped in the reviews I have read.
