Need to have a new drive installed. Have an IDE at the moment and looking around SATA seems the way to go. Motherboard supports it, have the cables etc but question I wanted to ask was do I need 2 drives or can I run just 1 SATA drive? (already have stuff backed up on external drive)
Thanks

You don't need 2 drives. You can buy a SATA HDD and use this as your boot drive, then keep the IDE one as a spare or use it for storage.
