HDD Vibrations

You could mount them in 5.25" bays using a "Scythe hard drive stabilizer". I mounted my two very loud, noisy seagate 7200.9 drives in them and it considerably reduced the seek noise and stopped my case from vibrating.

I can still hear them but the sound is not so noticable and doesn't annoy me any more :) Not bad for £4.50 each!

Bear in mind though that some hard drives like metal on metal contact with the case they sit in, particularly Seagate 7200.10s! They get what I think is officially known as '******* hot' of they don't have metal contact to conduct the heat away.

I've got a sharkoon hdd mount with my raptor sat in it. Its noticeably quieter than being screwed into the case, but also noticeably hotter... almost too hot :(
