HDD weird noise

I installed brand new sata HDD (wd black), it is in cage at the bottom of PC case, s.m.a.r.t health check says it is ok, but i hear that weird noise, and i can feel vibration in PC case:

It is like clicking sound, but 5 minutes ago i heard constant vibration sound for 5 seconds, maybe my HDD cage isn't properly installed? All smart atributes are ok from what i see, i did WD short smart test and it is ok, tomorrow i will do extended smart check test, and also h2testw as bonus check.

It is securely mounted? Doesn't shift when you try to move it in the cage?

I think so, i tried to move it and it is tightly secured, all 4 screws.

If you're not happy with it, wipe it and return it as faulty, as you this is what you suspect. I don't like taking chances with data loss.

I don't see any issues from the screenshot you've posted, but that doesn't mean there is an underlying problem that could bite you later on.

You could use Western Digital Dashboard to run some tests if you want to be as sure as you can be. If these tests passed, I think I'd be happy enough to trust the drive.

Can ESD damage hdd? I dind't follow guidelines, but i avoided touching bottom of hdd where electronic is, only touhed metal case of HDD.

I've never damaged a hard drive with ESD, at least not knowingly.
