Whats the best HDD gor installing OS for about £40. size is not important as I have 2TB storage.

USB flash drive, so I've heard, if it's a one-off expense. Or burn the iso to DVD if you have a DVD writer.

If £40 is your limit then one of these 2 would be best:
WD Caviar Blue
Samsung F1

If you can go over budget by £7 one of these would be good, larger cache size and 500GB:
WD Caviar Black

If you can I would go for the Black.
