HDDErase

hey all,

I finally upgraded to sandy bridge this week, which meant I had to secure erase my OS ssd for a fresh install of windows.

The only problem is, HDDErase isn't picking up my drive at all, so I'm not able to reinstall windows.

I'm not really familiar with the p67 chipset, so I would appreciate some advice.

Specs:
i7 [email protected]
8gb corsair XMS3
Asus Sabertooth (B3 revision)
5970 2gb@950/1250
Boot Drive - OCZ 120gb vertex 2E

You can use Parted Magic to do it. Very easy to do. There's a guide on the OCZ forums. Are you on AHCI mode ok?

If he's trying to use HDDerase is'nt he better off in IDE mode ?

You need AHCI mode but if the drive is not being seen, then you try IDE mode. You can use Parted Magic to do it as well.

was a while ago now but the tut i read instructed to use ide mode,
always works for me that way.
