HDMI and 8800GTS

Guys i have a 8800GTS and a 32" 1080P TV. now there is no HDMI connector on the Grx card but there is on the mobo. if i use the mobo hdmi will i still be using my grx card for games.

Sorry if this is a really stupid question but noob to HD.

doubt it mate would look for a dvi hdmi adaptor for your gfx card not sure about sending sound this way

what about spdif of is that just hd sound? again sorry to sound stupid lol

but to be honest i aint that worried about the sound as it will be going through my logi 5.1 system.

spdif from your soundcard to your tv or amp is possible

not sure if you can connect your sound and gfx card internally so it all goes down the hdmi cable

i have a dvi to hdmi cable in my setup as i heard it is better to avoid adaptors got it pretty cheap on the bay

I believe you can buy a DVI to HDMI cable as the pin arrangement is the same (or at least compatible)

cheers for the info guys i will try the dvi to hdmi. also hope it works with sli cus that is the next upgrade.
