HDMI = Aweful Resolution :/

I had the same issue for years and always assumed it was due to the gfx card.
After many years of messing about with different cards and drivers turns out it was the TV :rolleyes:

I had the TV set to 16:9 mode but by setting its to "Just Scan" sorted the picture out ( LG TV )

Thanks you are a genius, i couldn't figure it out, my text was blurry but now after changing to 'Just Scan' instead of 16:9 it looks 10x better.

Another option that can also work, is if your tv/monitor has 'wide mode' options, usually there will be two options 'Full' (default) and 'dot by dot'. Enabling dot by dot sorted it for me!

Try "my digital flat panels" - then "pixel format".

Just discovered it myself now, switched mine to RGB mode, was ycbcr 4:4:4, picture is an improvement over what it was.

Mine is a Samsung HDTV tho, not even sure if that ycbcr mode runs on monitor-only sets.

Since everyone is talking about their own HDMI problems...My screen flickers if I put the resolution up to 1920x1080, I have to put it down to 1280x1024 if I want it to work smothly. Any thoughts/ideas? Ati 5770 card, LG LH3000 TV.
